Our Introductory Session
Your dog’s first session will last up to 45 minutes, giving your pet time to get familiar with our environment and team. During this session, we’ll discuss the reasons for treatment and understand your goals for your dog’s progress.
Sit And Relax: Let Us Take Care Of Your Pet
We handle everything from start to finish. There's no need to bring towels. While you relax or enjoy a drink, we’ll keep detailed records of each session to track your dog’s progress. After the session, we recommend ensuring your pet has a warm resting place to maximise the therapy’s benefits.
What To Expect During A Typical Session
We take the time to dry your pet thoroughly after every session, allowing us to carefully assess the session's impact and ensure your dog is comfortable.
-
A general health check
-
Discussion on progress
-
A warm shower and fitting your pet with a buoyancy aid or harness, depending on their needs
-
A brief introduction to the water to assess their range of movement and fitness
-
Walking around the pool post-session to evaluate your dog’s movement
-
Another warm shower, followed by towel drying and blow-drying by our hydrotherapist
Follow-Up Sessions
Follow-up sessions also last up to 45 minutes. At the start of each session, we review progress from previous visits and adjust the swimming duration and methods accordingly. If appropriate, we’ll introduce spa sessions after 2-3 swims, ensuring your dog is comfortable in the pool first. Swimming remains a crucial part of your pet’s treatment, helping with mobility and overall health.
After a vet referral this is a great local facility that really cares, helps you and your pet and explains the treatment thoroughly. It is clear they love animals, and it is far more than a job.
